JERUSALEM, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball Super League club Hapoel Tel Aviv has signed former NBA player James Young, the club announced on Monday.
The 25-year-old shooting guard played college basketball at Kentucky Wildcats before being selected with the 17th overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2014 NBA draft.
His NBA career, which lasted until 2018, included 89 games for the Celtics and another six for the Philadelphia 76ers.
He averages 2.3 points in 8.5 minutes per game in the NBA.
In 2019, Young joined the Israeli club Maccabi Haifa and finished as the top scorer of the Israeli Super League with an average of 20.5 points per game.
In 2020, Young signed with the New York Knicks but was released before the NBA season and joined the NBA G League's Westchester Knicks, an affiliate of the NBA team.
