Marquette senior Theo John will transfer to Duke, he announced Friday.
The 6-foot-9, 245-pound center averaged 8.0 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Golden Eagles this past season. In four years, he started 86 games and is taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"After conversations with my family, I have decided that next year I will be attending Duke University for my final year of eligibility," he tweeted. "I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of my basketball journey."
On Thursday, Duke added graduate transfer Bates Jones, a 6-foot-8 forward who previously played at Davidson. He's the younger brother of Daniel Jones, who played quarterback for the Blue Devils before the New York Giants drafted him in the first round in 2019.
Bates Jones appeared in 22 games (two starts) last season, averaging 2.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.6 minutes per game.
Earlier this week, forward Matthew Jones, a first-team all-ACC selection, announced he was entering the NBA draft.
